 is a Multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Toronto. Saviah’s creativity surpasses the bounds of acrylic paintings into mixed-media paintings, digital art, sculpture, and fashion design. She attended a 4-year specialized arts program at Central Technical school before graduating Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Design. 

 

 Saviah’s love of art was awakened at a young age as she was surrounded by a family of artists who taught her the value of creation and self-expression. Her work is heavily informed not just by her life in Toronto, but by her Afro-Caribbean descent as well. She notes core memories of her grandfather Muhtadi’s international drumming festival, making costumes with her mother for Caribana, and learning to paint from her mumsy as having significant influence on her creative interests and art’s subject matter.

 

Saviah specializes in portraits that reflect the intersection of art, fashion, and pop culture. She is passionate about self expression and self-actualization. Love, escapism, intimacy, self-reflection, and Caribbean culture are themes that frequently occur in her work. Overall, Saviah is motivated to create a world where people experience her creations as witty, innovative, fun, and thought-provoking.
